Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve is a prime destination for trails in the Twin Cities whether you want to hike, mountain bike, or horseback ride. With dense forest, restored prairies, and many lakes, the scenery is varied and beautiful. There is a large off-leash dog area with acres of space to run free. The horse campsite is the only opportunity for camping here.
If you want to avoid dodging horse droppings, hike the trails starting at the main trailhead off Hanrehan Lake Boulevard; note that the trails here can be quite hilly and challenging. To hike with your dog or for flatter, easier trails, visit the Minnregs Trailhead off Judicial Road.
