One of the coolest state parks in North Dakota, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park just outside of Bismarck features reconstructions of the On-A-Slant Indian Village and military buildings. In addition to the historic attractions, Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park has many beautiful trails exploring the scenic bluffs along the Heart and Missouri Rivers. For a sampling of all the unique features of the park, take the Little Soldier Loop and stop at the former infantry post and blockhouses while enjoying blufftop views. Follow the Little Sioux Trail to go deeper into the park past native prairie and woodlands.
