Park Information

Rating: ★★★☆☆(3/5) - Decent Park

Adjacent to California Highway 14 where the Sierras converge with the mountains on the north end of the Antelope Valley, Red Rock Canyon State Park is home to spectacular rock formations. It's a popular filming destination and has been featured in movies like Jurassic Park and many westerns. In addition to hiking, this is a popular park for off-roading and mountain biking. Camping is available at the primitive, 50 site Ricardo Campground on a first-come, first served basis.

Hagen Canyon and Red Cliffs are the two main hiking trails in the park. While Nightmare Gulch is primarily an off-road vehicle area, it is closed to vehicles for part of each month to allow hikers and equestrians.
