Wild River State Park, Minnesota

Park Information

Named for the designated National Wild and Scenic River, the St. Croix River, this park preserves 18 miles of riverfront. You can enjoy the peaceful river by canoe -- rentals are available if you don't have your own. Spend the night in the developed Main Campground or in one of the many backpacking sites scattered throughout the park.

About half of the trails are shared with equestrians, so watch your step and be cautious when approaching riders. Most of the trails are concentrated in the lower portion of the park. The River Trail showcases the beauty of the St. Croix River and is easy enough for anyone to hike. Head to the Amador Prairie Loops to visit the fabulous restored prairie. For a longer, more challenging hike, take the Sunrise Trail.
